- Collection: The photographic collection includes buildings in Wales.

- Access: Open to the public, though new readers need to apply for a reader's card.
- Collections: The Manuscript Collection includes the family and estate records of some large landowners in Wales. It also holds Welsh diocesan records, including the diocesan copies of tithe maps and apportionments. The Picture Collection includes topographical images; there is also a collection of architectural drawings of buildings and other structures, mainly in Mid and South Wales. The collection of maps is the largest in Wales and includes the tithe maps for Welsh parishes.

- The collection of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales.
- Catalogue: the online database Coflein can be searched by mapping or text search. It records thousands of archaeological sites, monuments, buildings and maritime sites in Wales, as well as indexing the drawings, manuscripts and photographs held in the NMRW archive collections. Some photographs have been digitised and more will gradually become available online.
- Collection: The Print Room collection includes watercolours, drawings and engravings of many buildings in Wales.
